Highly regarded Water Infrastructure Contractor looking for an Experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead a small team of engineers

The Role

Our client has been successful across The Hunter and Sydney regions working on multiple WWTP and Chemical Dosing projects. This role of Senior Mechanical Engineer is to join a high-performing team in Newcastle, and support the development of local Junior Mechanical Engineers. Being a part of this local team will bring you new learning experiences across multiple projects.

Responsibilities Will Include

    • Deliver mechanical engineering services that meet its client’s expectations and applicable statutory on time and within budget.
    • Project delivery across various multi-discipline brownfield projects.
    • Engage directly with clients to ensure successful delivery of projects and to continue to build relationships with both clients and sub-contractors.
    • Perform mechanical engineering services such as:
        • assist with the preparation of proposals, estimates, budgets and schedules.
        • identify and report changes to project scope.
        • assist with the preparation of detailed designs and drawings, specifications, datasheets, calculations, scopes of work.
        • contribute to appropriate studies, analyses and recommend actions.
        • participate in project kick-off meetings, site inspections, design reviews, risk assessments, and constructability reviews.
        • provide assistance during procurement, construction and commissioning activities.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

    • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
    • Previous experience in metals, minerals & chemicals brownfield engineering design (preferred)
    • Effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work.
    • A good working knowledge of the fundamental requirements of mechanical engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
    • Competent use of mechanical engineering specific software (eg. Ceaser II, AutoPIPE, FluidFlow, NozzlePro, etc.) and relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
    • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
